Concord, N.C. (September 10, 2023) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Jo Shimoda put together a stellar ride at the opening round of the SuperMotocross Playoffs at zMAX Dragway outside Charlotte, finishing 4-1 to claim the overall victory and placing him in a tie for the lead heading into the second of three SMX playoff rounds. Ryder DiFrancesco continued the consistency he found at the end of Pro Motocross, earning fourth overall with a 7-3 finish, while Seth Hammaker was fast all day and joined his teammates in the top 10 with a sixth overall (5-8). Austin Forkner rode a great opening moto in sixth, but a crash in the second moto pushed him down the leaderboard to finish 13th overall. Carson Mumford had been fighting a stomach bug all week and, even after giving it his all in the opening race, had no strength to continue, scoring him 20th for the day.
