SAN DIEGO (January 17, 2026) – The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team delivered a strong rebound performance under the lights at Snapdragon Stadium during Round 2 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, showcasing speed, resilience, and podium-level execution after a challenging opening round. Leading the charge, Cameron McAdoo put together an impressive ride to claim a well-earned second-place finish, marking a major milestone in his return to form. Levi Kitchen backed it up, charging from deep in the field to finish fourth after an early setback.

McAdoo opened the day with the ninth-fastest qualifying time, setting himself up for a strong heat race. Focused and aggressive, he came into San Diego ready to make a statement after a 22nd-place finish last weekend. When the gate dropped for the heat race, McAdoo launched with the front group and quickly moved forward, settling into fourth and holding the position to the checkered flag to secure a solid gate pick for the Main Event.
When the gate dropped for the Main Event, McAdoo rocketed out front and immediately put himself in podium contention. After running second early and briefly slipping to third, he reclaimed second and defended the position for the remainder of the race to lock in a hard-fought podium. The result marked the team’s first podium of the season and McAdoo’s best performance since returning from injury.
“I didn’t expect to finish 22nd last weekend, so I definitely had something to prove to myself,” said McAdoo. “It’s been a long road back, and as everyone knows, this sport isn’t easy. I’ve always taken pride in being able to respond, and tonight was pretty special. Being off the bike for that long and then being able to race at that pace again means a lot.
A lot has changed in my life recently, and welcoming a baby girl into the world has given me a completely different perspective. I’m grateful for my family, my team, and everyone who has stuck behind me. I can’t thank the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team enough for believing in me, and I’ll always stand behind them. To everyone who supports us, this is a great life, and I’m just a kid from Iowa living his dream. I’m grateful I get to keep doing this, and I truly believe I belong here. This one was for my baby girl and my sister overseas.”

Kitchen showed speed from the opening laps of the day, qualifying second and setting the tone early. In the heat race, he was boxed in off the start and caught in the midfield, finishing the opening lap outside the top ten. Staying composed, he went to work through traffic, making calculated passes to break into the top five and finishing fourth.
In the main event, Kitchen launched off the gate but was pinched on the inside in the first corner and went down, forcing him to remount at the back of the pack. Refusing to let the setback define his night, Kitchen charged forward, clicking off clean passes and steadily climbing through the field. His grit and determination earned him an impressive fourth-place finish, capping off a strong comeback ride.
“The day was pretty solid,” said Kitchen. “Qualifying went well, and the heat race was okay even though I started a bit far back. In the main event, I got a really good start but clipped a tough block and went down. From there, I worked my way from last to fourth. That’s progress from last week, but the goal now is to put together a clean start and be up front next weekend.”

With confidence building and momentum on their side, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki is looking forward to Round 3 of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship as the series returns for its second and final stop in Anaheim.
