JWR Honda: The MXGP of Castilla La Mancha Concludes the MXGP Season 2024
What a wild ride it’s been. Another season of world’s best motocross done. For JWR Honda it meant this year participating in 12 Grand Prix’s in 8 different countries with Alvin Östlund. Countless kilometres across Europe, racing with the best. And to fulfil a dream, the JWR Honda team also crossed the pond for a great adventure in the United States of America, competing there as well in two rounds of the American Pro Motocross Championship, putting the name of JWR on every motocross fans lips around the world of dirt bikes.

Castilla La Mancha was quite a challenging showdown. While the organisation was smooth, the track proved to be difficult and perhaps unfit for World Championship. Nevertheless, the show must go on and the riders, as well as the crowd showed up for one last Grand Prix.
Working our way from Saturday’s tough time practice where Alvin struggled to put together a nice lap on to the improved result in the qualifying race, which put him to 16th place for the race day.

From the tough first race where Alvin got caught behind a crash which cost him couple positions towards the end with a finish at 18th place to the second race with great start and pace from finish to end, where Alvin finished 15th, putting him to 15th overall for the Grand Prix and in the end 22nd in the World Championship results despite not participating in 8 rounds. Quite impressive stuff.

And while the grand battles fought across the track were impressive, as Alvin rode to 15th place finish overall, perhaps the bigger things were happening behind the scenes, as we’re well on our way towards the Motocross Des Nations in Matterley Basin, where we’ll be putting on the Swedish colours of blue and yellow to finish off the season with #161 Alvin Östlund.
After all that’s been said, I’d like to say huge thank you for supporting us on behalf of the whole team. Thank you from Johan, Patrik, Andrea the Mechanic, Alvin and me.
