ERNEE’ (FR) – Italy is third in the 2023 motocross of nations. Among the high-sounding names from all over the world who arrived on the French track in view of the 2023 motocross of nations, the Italia team achieved a sporting feat and finished third behind Australia and France.

The two days, characterized by perfect temperatures for the success of the event, saw an impressive turnout of the public, around 36 thousand spectators on Saturday and over 50 thousand confirmed on Sunday. Representing our country, in addition to the reigning MX2 champion Andrea Adamo and the EMX250 champion Andrea Bonacorsi, the best of the Italians in MXGP is also lined up as well as the standard bearer of the SM ACTION YUASA BATTERY team Alberto Forato who was also chosen as captain of the Italia team . Saturday saw the team very unlucky, after Alberto lost a lot of time in the qualifying race due to a technical problem. Team Italy then lined up at the gate, in tenth and thirtieth positions on the grid.

During the course of the first race, which includes the MXGP and MX2 classes, Alberto did not get a good start but he kept his head down and began to recover, and after passing through the first lap in sixteenth position he managed to lead the colors of Italy and the team in twelfth position at the checkered flag. In the third race, however, Alberto gets a start in the top ten and thanks to a consistent race he finishes in eighth position. Consolidating the third overall position was the excellent performance of Andrea Adamo, and the solid performance of Andrea Bonacorsi who led an exciting race after starting from the back of the group during race three.

It was therefore a bronze medal at the checkered flag, crowning an excellent season and two splendid days of racing, and the podium for which we worked so hard during the 2023 season finally arrived at the last race of the year.
